Jerry Keller, an honorable husband, and citizen had never been arrested prior to this incident. After his arrest, Jerry sought the US~Observer’s help. Our investigation proved he was correct all along. He hadn’t committed any crimes whatsoever. The District Attorney offered a despicable plea deal that was easily rejected by Jerry. Knowing he was only facing misdemeanors, Jerry, being a man of principle, maintained his innocence and prepared for trial.
The US~Observer had already published the facts regarding his case – informing everyone in his community about the unlawful arrest and charges against Jerry for exercising his First Amendment right.
Running out of options, the prosecutor preserved self-inflicted insult by avoiding taking Jerry’s case to trial. His criminal charges were tossed out and reduced to violations – only allowing a citation which is not criminal.
Jerry Keller is now enjoying retirement. He loves fishing. He enjoys his spotless criminal record. Most of all – Jerry enjoys exercising his First Amendment rights!
